The least glamorous part of working at Semco Maritime can be the routine tasks and busy periods. With student jobs across various areas such as procurement, HSE, sales, marketing, and more, the workload can vary.

With responsibility often comes busyness — and sometimes that means handling the less exciting, but essential, tasks that keep everything running smoothly.

At Semco Maritime, we make a conscious effort to celebrate successes of all sizes — and we’re good at it! Whether it’s with cake, small gifts, or a champagne reception, we make sure to recognize our achievements. It strengthens our team spirit and makes work more enjoyable!

At Semco Maritime, we strive to collaborate with visionary individuals — like renowned physicist and Nobel Prize winner Marie Curie and iconic leader Nelson Mandela — who represent core values that are central to our company.

Marie Curie, known for her strong character and groundbreaking work in safety and technology, stands as a symbol of scientific integrity. Her legacy inspires us to create an inclusive workplace where diverse perspectives enhance our ability to develop safe and advanced energy solutions.

Nelson Mandela reminded us that true leadership is about uniting people around a shared vision. He demonstrated how collaboration, courage, and community can overcome even the greatest challenges. What advice would you give to students who want to work with you?

Be curious by asking questions and exploring new ideas. Be proactive by taking initiative and seeking out challenges. And be eager to learn by embracing feedback and new opportunities.

What’s the funniest or most unexpected thing that’s ever happened in the office?

We celebrated our CEO, Steen Brødbæk’s 60th birthday — and it was far from an ordinary celebration. Offices around the world took part, making it a truly special event. There were speeches, presentations, songs, and festivities at every location, all coming together to honor Steen. It was a fantastic way to show appreciation and reflect on his leadership — filled with laughter, surprises, and a strong sense of unity across Semco Maritime!
