Who is Asento?

ASENTO is a digital marketing agency with an office at Pakhustorvet in Kolding. We help ambitious companies create measurable growth through digital marketing – including SEO, Google Ads, Paid Social, E-mail Marketing, and tracking. We refer to ourselves as a one-stop-shop for digital marketing, but in practice this means that we bring together skilled specialists across disciplines, so our clients get strategy, execution, and collaboration in one place. We were founded in 2015 and today have 10 years of experience and 800+ success stories behind us.

What informal traditions, rituals, and/or activities do you have in the workplace that employees love?

We have a culture where the social and the professional go hand in hand. We focus on social events, internal courses, knowledge sharing, and a regular development day every month, which includes internal training at both team-specific and cross-disciplinary levels.

One of the traditions employees truly support is our “Employee of the Month” vote. Everyone can nominate everyone, and when nominating a colleague, you must include a short description of why the person deserves to be highlighted. This could be for extra strong collaboration, a great professional effort, positive daily energy, or something entirely different.

Once all nominees have been presented, we vote in a “Survivor-style” format. It brings laughter, recognition, and a great opportunity to pause and put into words all the things the colleagues do well in everyday work.

In addition, there are the more informal aspects: shared laughter, small celebrations, Friday vibes, internal jokes, and activities where we get to be together as people.

It is important to us that you do not just show up, complete your tasks, and go home. You become part of a team where you can learn, contribute, and have fun along the way.

What would surprise students the most about working with you?

Many students are surprised by how quickly they get to work closely with real clients, real tasks, and real decisions.

At ASENTO, you’re not “just an intern.” You become part of everyday work, part of your team, and get the opportunity to contribute to tasks that actually matter for clients’ performance. At the same time, there are many skilled specialists around you, so you can get sparring, ask questions, and develop quickly.

Another thing that would likely surprise many is how much we focus on matching each intern with the right specialization area. Our internship programs are not one-size-fits-all. Instead, we tailor the process so that the intern’s interests, competencies, and development goals match as well as possible with the team and tasks they become part of.

Additionally, we mark both the start and the end of an internship with a social event. It is important to us that interns do not just come in, complete tasks, and leave again. They should feel like a real part of ASENTO during their time with us.

New in job

How can a new employee make their unique mark on your organisation from day one?

At ASENTO, you do not have to wait years to have a voice.

A new employee can make an impact from day one by bringing ideas, asking good questions, and offering new perspectives. Digital marketing is constantly evolving, which is why we need people who see things in new ways.

It could be a new angle on a campaign, a smarter way of structuring a task, an observation from social media, or a technical detail that improves a solution. With us, good ideas are not dependent on seniority. They can come from anyone.

challenges

How do you handle the challenges you encounter?

We handle challenges by approaching them professionally, openly, and in a solution-oriented way.

When something doesn’t go as expected, it is not about pointing fingers. It is about understanding why, learning from it, and adjusting the effort. We work with data, sparring, and specialists across disciplines, so no one stands alone with difficult tasks.

Knowledge sharing and internal training are a fixed part of the culture, and every month there is a dedicated development day where employees can expand their knowledge both within their own team and across disciplines.

This makes challenges easier to manage. Especially for new employees. You are not thrown into everything alone. You become part of a team where there is room to ask questions, learn, and find solutions together.

Career

What makes your organisation an exciting place for students to kickstart their careers?

ASENTO is an exciting place to start a career because you enter an environment with high professionalism, strong curiosity, and plenty of opportunities for development.

As a student, you get to work with many different disciplines within digital marketing – including SEO, Google Ads, Paid Social, E-mail Marketing, tracking and content. At the same time, we work with a broad portfolio of companies and institutions across industries, sizes, and business models. This means you quickly gain industry experience from many different types of clients and learn how digital marketing must be adapted depending on target group, market, and commercial goals.

At ASENTO, you do not just gain insight into one type of company or one way of working with marketing. You get to see how strategies, campaigns, and digital efforts work in practice across industries, and how specialists collaborate to create measurable results.

At the same time, ASENTO has a strong tradition of developing talent internally. Several employees started as interns or student assistants and have since taken on more responsibility, specialized, and helped shape the development of the agency.

This says a lot about the opportunities: if you show initiative, curiosity, and a willingness to learn, you will be given the chance to grow with the responsibility.

Setback

What is the least great thing about working with you?

The least appealing part is probably that digital marketing rarely stands still, and there are periods when a lot happens at the same time.

There can be busy periods where deadlines approach quickly, campaigns need to be executed fast, platforms change, tracking causes issues, or results do not develop as expected. Especially around Black Friday and in Q4 in general, the pace can be high because many clients have important campaigns, sales periods, and overlapping deadlines.

Some tasks also require patience, structure, and repetition, and they are not always glamorous. This could be optimizations, reporting, proofreading, setup, or troubleshooting that simply needs to be done correctly.

On the other hand, this is also part of what makes the work exciting. You quickly learn that strong results do not happen by coincidence. They come from analysis, testing, collaboration, and the ability to stay calm, even when things are busy and not everything works the first time.

SUCCES

How do you celebrate successes, big or small, in your organisation?

At ASENTO, we are quite good at pausing and celebrating when something succeeds. Both the big milestones and the small everyday wins.

This could be a client reaching an ambitious goal or milestone, a campaign that overperforms, a colleague who has cracked the code on a difficult task, or a team that has delivered something extraordinary. Specifically, we have an internal Slack channel where we celebrate our colleagues’ great work for clients. This can range from strong results and great client experiences to creative solutions or exceptionally strong cross-team collaboration.

Sometimes success is celebrated with shared recognition in the office, other times with social events, Friday vibes, or a well-deserved pat on the back and a high five from the whole team.

We believe that success is contagious. That is why it is important to us that results are not just something that sits in a report, but something we share, learn from, and use to make each other even better.

Collaboration

If your organisation could collaborate with any famous person or organisation (living or dead), who would it be, and what would you achieve together?

If we could freely choose, we would collaborate with Stig Rossen.

After all, he is the king of Kolding, and with our competencies in digital marketing, we could help give him exactly the recognition he deserves. We could elevate his digital presence, create campaigns with strong local impact, and ensure that even more people become aware of just how iconic he really is.

In return, he could appropriately repay us with a few private concerts at Pakhustorvet, so we would not have to listen to him only through the office speakers.

It would likely be a collaboration with both high professionalism, local pride, and a good portion of ASENTO humor.

BEST ADVICE

What advice would you give to students who want to collaborate with you?

Our best advice is: Be curious, be honest about what you do not yet know, and show that you want to learn.

You do not need to know everything in advance. The most important thing is that you want to understand how digital marketing creates value in practice and that you are willing to ask questions, take responsibility, and try things out.

At ASENTO, we value people who can both think independently and help others succeed. So bring your ideas, your energy, and your professional curiosity. That is often what makes the biggest difference.

CUlture

Highlight and describe what you are most proud of when it comes to your workplace culture.

We are most proud of having created a culture where high professionalism, flexibility, and recognition go hand in hand.

At ASENTO, we have high ambitions – both for ourselves and for our clients. But we also believe that people perform best when there’s trust, flexibility, and room to take responsibility in a way that makes the most sense in everyday work. That is why our culture is not built on rigid structures, but on freedom with responsibility, strong collaboration, and a shared desire to do things properly.

One of the things we are most proud of is the way we recognize each other. We are good at noticing when a colleague goes the extra mile, helps move a team forward, creates strong results for a client, or contributes positive energy in everyday work. This applies both in formal settings and in small moments where a pat on the back or a kind word can make a big difference.

For us, a strong work culture is not just about social events or great results. It is about being part of a team where you are seen, where your effort matters, and where we genuinely want to see each other succeed.

FUN

What is the funniest or most unexpected thing that has ever happened at the office?

One of the experiences we still talk about is from ASENTO’s five-year anniversary.

There were already plans for a day of celebration in the office, but the employees had decided to surprise our founder and CEO, Marcus Møberg, with a small internal gimmick. We had a T-shirt produced with Marcus’ face on the front, and on the back were his five best (and definitely funniest) quotes from the first five years of ASENTO.

Marcus, of course, knew nothing about it. So the surprise was quite big when he arrived at the celebration and discovered that everyone was wearing a T-shirt with his face on it.

It says a lot about the culture at ASENTO. We respect each other and what we are building together, but we also have room for humor, internal jokes, and moments where we do not take ourselves too seriously. For us, that kind of thing helps create a community, that celebrate each other, and laugh together along the way.
